A third of the way to meeting Baby K!

I CAN NOT believe we are in the 2nd trimester! I know it sounds cliche, but I feel like we were just at Garner finding out!

Not a whole lot of news to report this time. We went to the doctor today (14 weeks) and heard the little heartbeat, which was just as amazing today as it was the first time I heard it. Its (<---so ready to change that to his or her) heart rate was ranging in the 150s, which is lower than the previous two check-ups. Daddy was quick to ask the doctor, in a knowing voice, "but that's normal right, for the heart rate to decrease a little in the second trimester?" I'm sure this was partly to reassure me. I thought it was sweet of him... I immediately thought of the scene in the movie Knocked Up when she says "...you read the baby books!" LOL. That's my Timmy! :) Doctor Mullin agreed, saying the heart rate does indeed slow down a little in the 2nd trimester. While we were listening to the heart, there was a funny noise that came over the doppler, Dr. Mullin smiled and said "that was your baby moving"! That was pretty cool, especially since we didn't get to see the baby this time, hearing it move was the next best thing!

We will be going back to the doctor at 18 weeks on September 29th to do the same things we did today, a check-up and listen to the heart rate. We go again 2 weeks later at 20 weeks to find out if little K is going to be all about Aggie Football with Daddy or all about shopping and decorating with Mommy! Actually, I'm sure either way baby will have no choice but to be all about Aggie Football. Obviously, we are so anxious for that day to get here! I have to admit, I was a little disappointed to learn that Dr. Mullin waits until the 20th week to do another ultrasound. But, I've made it 14 weeks not knowing, I guess another 6 won't kill me... maybe.

Thanks for checking in! :)
